To get a smart home quote in Dubai, call or WhatsApp us on +971 4 458 2205, or email hello@avariohome.com, and tell us about your home and what you want to control. We usually call you the next business day to arrange a visit, and you get a written quote within 2 days of that visit.

It works the same way for a new system and for an upgrade to one you already have. If your home only exists on drawings so far, send those instead and we can prepare a budgetary estimate first.

## Which request fits your home?

Tell us which option is closest to your situation. If you are not sure, explain what you have and we will sort it out with you.

- New system: you have a new build, an off-plan handover, a renovation or a finished home with no smart system yet.
- Upgrade survey: you already have a smart system and want to add rooms or features, fix problems or take it over from another installer.
- Moving in or buying: you have bought or rented a home with an existing system and have no passwords or setup files. If you have not completed the purchase yet, we can inspect the system for you first.

## Can you get an estimate before anyone visits?

Yes. Send us floor plans or drawings and we can prepare a budgetary estimate, a first estimate worked out from the drawings, before anyone visits.

This suits off-plan homes and villas that are still being designed. If you are building your own villa, the best time to contact us is the preliminary design stage, before the drawings are final.

A budgetary estimate helps you plan. Your written quote comes after our engineer's visit.

## What should you tell us?

The more you tell us, the more useful the visit is. Our engineer arrives knowing what you want and does not have to start from scratch.

You do not need any technical words. Say it the way you would explain it to a friend.

- Your home: villa or apartment, the area and the number of bedrooms.
- Your project: new build, renovation, or a finished home you live in now.
- Whether you own or rent.
- What you want to control, for example lighting, AC, curtains and blinds, door locks, cameras and intercom, Wi-Fi, music or a cinema room.
- Anything already installed: the brand of switches or hub (the small box that runs your system), and whether you have the setup files and passwords.
- Floor plans or drawings, if you have them.
- Your privacy preferences, for example whether you want everything to run in your home without relying on the cloud.

## What happens after you contact us?

It takes a few steps to get from your first call or message to a written quote, and our own team handles every one of them.

How long installation takes depends mainly on whether the system is wired or wireless. A wireless system usually takes a couple of days on site. A wired system goes in alongside the build or during a major renovation, because the cables have to be run before the walls are closed.

- We contact you, usually the next business day, to arrange a time for the visit.
- Our engineer visits, looks at your home and talks through what you want.
- You get a written quote within 2 days of the visit.
- Once you go ahead, our team installs the system. We do all the programming and commissioning (setting up and testing every device) ourselves.

## What does an upgrade survey check?

An upgrade survey tells you what you have, what condition it is in and what is worth keeping. Our engineer checks the system itself, the electrics around it and your Wi-Fi.

When people move into a home with an older system, they often have no passwords or setup file. Without that file, nobody can change or extend the system. We rebuild the setup so you can use and upgrade the system again, and you always keep a copy of the new file.

If a wired system has no file and the original installer has gone, we usually rebuild it and replace the hub with Symphony, Avario's own platform for making large, complex homes easier to manage. You decide whether your existing keypads and switches stay. Our guide to [taking over a smart home system from another installer](https://staging.avario.ae/articles/system-takeover/) explains this in more detail.

- A check and analysis of how the current system is working.
- A thermal camera (FLIR) check for hot spots, which can point to overloaded or loose connections.
- A full Wi-Fi signal map made with UniFi tools, so you can see the weak areas room by room.

## What affects the cost of your quote?

Your quote depends on your home and on how much of it you want to control. We do not list prices on this page. Our guide on [how much a smart home costs in Dubai](https://staging.avario.ae/topics/smart-home-cost/) explains the main factors.

You do not always need the most expensive option. In a smaller apartment, a wireless system may be all you need. For new villas, including three-bedroom new builds, we advise [wired KNX, a standard for wired home control](https://staging.avario.ae/articles/knx-automation/), because the cables can go in during the build.

- The size of your home and the number of rooms.
- Wired or wireless.
- New build or retrofit (adding the system to a finished home).
- The brands you choose, including switch panels. We offer products from 18 high-end suppliers.
- How much you control: lighting, AC and curtains usually come first, then cameras, intercom, networking, audio and more.

## Already have a system with a fault?

If you need a repair rather than a quote, there is a quicker way. Avario customers can use the support chat in the Avario app. If another company installed your system, call us on +971 4 458 2205. For those systems, we always start with a health check before we fix the fault.

Our support hours are Monday to Saturday, 8am to 7pm. Our guide to [smart home repair and maintenance in Dubai](https://staging.avario.ae/articles/smart-home-maintenance/) explains how support plans work.

## For contractors, developers and designers

If you are pricing a project for a client, contact us the same way and tell us your role, the project type and the stage it has reached. We work from your architect's or MEP drawings, and the earlier we join, the better.

For ongoing work, such as several units or a design partnership, call us on the main number or read our page for [contractors, developers, designers and installers](https://staging.avario.ae/topics/trade-partners/). On new builds we can work with your MEP team, or our own team can run the cable.

## Questions people ask

How soon will you contact me? Usually the next business day after you message or email us, to arrange the visit.

How long until I get my written quote? Within 2 days of our engineer's visit. If you send drawings first, we can give you a budgetary estimate before the visit.

Can I ask for a quote if I rent? Yes. Whether we need your landlord's consent first depends on the situation, so tell us that you rent.

Will I get the setup files and passwords? Yes. At handover you get the project file and passwords as standard, along with drawings and written system records.

Does the system still work if the internet goes down? Yes. Inside your home, the keypads keep working, and so does the app while your home Wi-Fi is on. Control from outside your home stops until the internet comes back.
